Isager Tvinni is a gorgeous non-superwash pure merino wool that produces a beautifully soft fabric for your finished project. We recommend soaking and blocking your work to really bring out the best in this gorgeous fibre. It is lighter than a standard 4-ply but would make a lovely light fabric at a standard 4-ply gauge.
Isager’s colours have wonderful depth and tone beautifully together across the ranges. Isager Tvinni is very popular stranded together with other yarns from Isager, particularly Isager Silk Mohair, Isager Alpaca 1 and Isager Alpaca 2.
Isager Tvinni comes dyed on one of two pure wool bases, a natural white or grey. Shades dyed on the grey base are donated by an 'S' after the shade number. The grey base gives a darker tone and, particularly on the paler shades, a beautiful heathered effect.
100% wool 2-ply construction. For guidance, we would class this as a light 4-ply weight.
Isager Tvinni was developed by Marianne Isager together with the Danish spinning mill, ”Skive Uldspinderi” (EN: Henrichsen’s Wool Mill). The finest merino quality, virgin wool, which is first cut lambswool, is used to create this beautiful yarn. The 2-ply construction of Tvinni makes it a durable yarn. A sweater knit or crocheted in Tvinni has a long life if treated with care.
