Levitate Wrap by My Favourite Things Knitwear

I've finished my Levitate Wrap by My Favourite Things Knitwear and I am absolutely delighted with it – it's light, cosy and so wearable!

Nicky Jerrome All About The Yarn Wearing her Levitate Wrap knitting design by My Favourite Things Knitwear in Isager Yarn Soft and Trio Chesterblade Hills Somerset

The pattern is well written and fun to make, with enough nice touches and techniques to keep this classic, simple-looking wrap interesting. The thicker yarn and larger needles mean that this is a quick knit but the clever construction of Isager Soft means that it is very lightweight, despite there being a lot of fabric by the end!

Levitate in the Wild

I took advantage of the September sunshine to capture photos of my Levitate Wrap out in the fields around Chesterblade in Somerset. It was such a magical moment, I've put together this short video of my wander so I could share it with you:

My own wrap uses the designer’s original shade suggestions (Soft in E2S and Trio in Linen). As we pass the Equinox and the season turns, I’ve curated a selection of eight yarn bundles inspired by the upcoming autumn and winter. If you’d like to knit yours in the original colours, just choose Levitate – or explore the other seasonal combinations below. Please note, the pattern is not included in the yarn bundle and needs to be purchased directly from the designer.

Early-Bird Pre-Order Discount:

For a very limited time, I am offering an early-bird pre-order discount of 10% on the yarn bundles to ensure that I get enough of the shades that you want on my next Isager shipment. I expect the yarn to be with me by mid-October. The deadline for pre-orders is 8am on Thursday 2nd October. Pre-orders will then close and the discount code will no longer work. After this date, bundles will be available at the regular price, subject to stock. To take advantage of the early-bird offer, use the code LEVITATE10 at checkout.

Yarn:

Isager Soft is a 56% alpaca/44% organic cotton "blown" yarn where alpaca fluff is blown through a cotton mesh tube. This makes the yarn very light for it's aran-chunky thickness. By holding it together with Isager Trio, a laceweight linen/cotton/bamboo blend, the fabric has added drape, depth, body and structure without becoming too heavy. The juxtaposition of the two yarn colours and textures adds visual interest and depth. The fabric is also gorgeously soft. I can't stop stroking it!

Technical details:

The wrap is designed to be oversized. The fit is short and boxy with extra long sleeves. The cardigan has a deep v-neck, double knitted edges and ribbons for tying.

Here are the key details from the pattern, so you can check yardage and sizing before you cast on:

Sizes

XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL)

Measurements

Length (measured at the center back, below the neckline): 45 (48) 50 (51) 53 (54) 56 (58) cm 17.75 (19) 19.75 (20) 21 (21.25) 22 (22.75) inches
Circumference: 115 (123) 128 (131) 136 (141) 147 (152) cm 45.75 (48.5) 50.5 (51.5) 53.5 (55.5) 58 (59.5) inches

Sizeguide

Levitate Wrap has an oversize fit. The smaller sizes have a greater positive ease than the larger sizes in order to complement the individual body the best. Calculate a positive ease of approx. 30-35 cm 11.75-13.75 inches in size XS-XL and approx. 20 cm 8 inches in size 2XL-4XL.

The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) suit a bust circumference of approx. 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) cm 31.5-33.5 (33.5-35.5) 35.5-37.5 (37.5-39.5) 39.5-43.25 (43.25-47.25) 47.25-51.25 (51.25-55) inches.
For example: You measure 89 cm/35 inches at your bust + 30-35 cm 11.75-13.75 inches = 119-124 cm 46.75 - 48.75 inches. Meaning you would choose a size S with a circumference of 123 cm 48.5 inches.
