One Minute of Birdsong for International Dawn Chorus Day

Sunday Ramble – 5th May
International Dawn Chorus Day

Today is International Dawn Chorus Day, so I wandered down to the end of my garden at 5.30am, cup of tea in hand, to enjoy the music.

A few days ago, I learned that the Swiss have a word for waking early to listen to the birdsong — Gökotta. Isn’t that beautiful?

It felt lovely to take a little time at the very start of the day to simply stand still, listen, and absorb the sounds around me. I captured a short video to share with you, just in case you’d enjoy it too.

So here is one whole minute of birdsong.
Why not grab your own cup of tea (or warm drink of choice), sit down somewhere quiet, and give yourself just one minute to be still, breathe deeply, and enjoy nature’s choir?
