NEXT STEPS KNITTING: Fairisle-style Stranded Colourwork Wrist Warmers (materials included)
Come and learn how to knit Fairisle-style wrist warmer cuffs in the round using the magic loop method with Nicky to get you started on your stranded colourwork journey.
Everything you need to get going with your pair of wrist warmers will be provided on the day and you will have enough yarn and the needles to take home to finish them both.
Fairisle is a popular form of colourwork where the colours of yarn are alternated across the round and the colour you are not knitting with is carried (stranded) across the back of your work until it's used again. This gives the fabric an extra layer of warmth as well as creating beautiful patterns. These wristwarmers are quick to knit and will give you a grounding in the basics of stranded colourwork.
Tea, coffee, cake/biscuits will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
Skills required: Attendees should be confident with casting on, casting off, knitting and purling. An understanding of knitting in the round is required but you don't need to be an expert in it. If you've never knit with the "magic loop" technique, it will be helpful to try it before the day but we will refresh the basics at the start of the session.
Materials Provided: Cambrian Wool yarn is provided on the day. A long circular needle for magic loop will be provided on the day but if you have a preferred method for working small circumferences in the round (i.e. double pointed needles) you are very welcome to bring them.

Venue: Our dedicated teaching space is located at Chesterblade Hills, set in the beautiful Somerset countryside in the hamlet of Chesterblade between Frome and Shepton Mallet.

Please note that we need a minimum of 2 attendees in order to run the course.
We are unable to offer refunds for cancellations with less than 4 week's notice. This is in order to give us a chance to fill the space. If you cancel at less than 4 week's notice and we are able to fill your space, we can offer you a transfer to the next available course date.
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a course due to illness or such like, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity and either refund you or transfer you to the next available course date, depending on your preference.
