Learn how simple increases and decreases can transform your knitting as we create a beautifully shaped leaf. This friendly, hands-on class introduces the foundational techniques behind shaping your work, helping you understand how stitches lean, grow and taper to form curves and points.

You’ll practise:

• kfb, yo and m1L/m1R increases

• k2tog and ssk decreases

• Following short sections of written instructions

• Recognising how shaping alters fabric structure

This is a relaxed, confidence-building workshop designed to help you take your knitting beyond flat rectangles.

Who it’s for

Suitable for anyone who has mastered cast on, knit, purl and cast off.

No previous experience with shaping is needed.

What you’ll make

A small knitted leaf – perfect as a keepsake or decorative embellishment. Make one for practice or several for seasonal bunting. It also serves as a helpful reference for future projects involving shaping.
