A gentle, seasonal workshop rooted in nature, fibre, and creativity.
Join me the week after midsummer for a new kind of workshop – a quiet, creative day of walking, making, and weaving seasonal inspiration into fibre.
We’ll begin with a cup of tea and an introduction to solar dyeing, before heading out on a guided walk led by Ed Green, whose family have cared for the land around the studio for generations. Ed now runs rewilding and conservation projects on the site and is a former trustee of Somerset Wildlife Trust. He’ll introduce us to the wildflowers, trees, and landscape that shape the world just beyond our door.
🌞 Solar Dyeing
After a light seasonal lunch, we’ll begin our solar dyeing project. You’ll receive:
We’ll hopefully gather additional dye plants during our walk, and you’ll layer them into your jar. The yarn will steep in the sun through the afternoon, and you’ll take it home to complete the transformation over the coming days, weeks or even months.
(I’ll be opening mine on the Autumn Equinox.)
🎨 Creative Making
The rest of the afternoon is open-ended – a time to respond in your own way to the season.
You’ll have access to materials and gentle guidance for:
You’re welcome to focus on one craft or mix them together. I’ll be there to support you throughout, with a selection of suggested stitch patterns for knitters and crocheters if you need a nudge to get started.
